Christmas blessings

Here is a quick Christmas card that I made for my Secret Santa. . .in very non-traditional Christmas colors. But I LOVE how it turned out! The stamp is from Stampendous. . .just adorable. I've seen so many other blogs posting with these stamps. I think I need more!

The card base is Perfect Plum and stamped with the now retired Linen background. I'm so glad I snatched this one up! I used the Regal Rose ribbon and learned how to put that one nicely watch KWerner's make a card Monday video. Watch it for yourself and see how she did it. Why didn't I ever think of that????

Anyways, hope you like it. Now if I could only get the rest of my Christmas cards done!!

Ballerina chapstick folder

Thought I'd share another something I made for my craft show. I loved the chapstick folders the ladies were making on SCS so I made one and decorated it with this cute ballerina girl from the All In The Family set. Sold these for $3 each or 2 for $5. Still have some left. . .think I'll have to find some sweet girls to give these too!

Now. . .I'm off to get ready for Michael W. Smith in concert! He's here for his Christmas tour and I can't wait!!!

Wow. . .it's been a while!!

Has it really been that long??? I guess it has. I have been so busy!! I did two craft shows. . .one was great, the other was a bust! I've been working like crazy on my orders that I got there. That, plus being Mom, wife and volunteer at church and my kids' school. . .it's been crazy. I'm so sorry I've been neglecting the blog. I'm going to do much better about posting now. At least, that's my goal.

Stampin' Up's new retirement list is up!! So many sets going! A bunch that I own!! Guess that's OK tho. Click here to view the list. Interested in ordering any? Contact me and I'll be happy to order them for you.

Here's a picture of the Cocoa-to-go boxes that I sold at my show. I priced them at $3 each or 2 for $5. A lot of people liked them. They make the perfect little teacher's gift. . .or for the bus driver. . .or your mailman. Who doesn't like hot chocolate???!!! I hope you like them. They are just french fry boxes with a hot chocolate packet, a peppermint stick and a small bag of marshmellows. Put it in a cello bag and tie it up with ribbon.

Hope you have a great weekend. And watch for me to be around more often!

Manicure-in-a-jar

I made four of these for the craft show I was in last weekend. I thought they were adorable. . .guess a few other people thought so too. I sold three of the four. I think I may make up a couple more for the show I'm doing next weekend. I need to get cranking! It's coming up quickly!! Hope you like it!

Pick a Posey

I just love this stamp set. I hated it when it retired! I have a lot of flower sets, but I do tend to use this one a lot.

Anyways, this card I made for my upline's shoebox swap. She lives up north so I'm not able to be there in person, so I made my cards ahead of time and will mail them to her. In turn, I will get 9 different cards/projects back. I can't wait to see what I get! Last time there were so many neat things!

I made this using Beate's awesome Emerging Colors tutorial. Great directions! It's a little time consuming with the brayering, but well worth the effect! My husband was WOWed!! He still can't figure out how I did it. So give the tutorial a try. You'll be impressed with the results!

Manly card

I find it very hard to make manly cards! When I first saw the On The Fly set in the new Stampin' Up catalog. . .I couldn't wait to get it! My father-in-law likes to fish as do my brothers-in-law. I go fishing with my husband and boys too in the summertime. I knew I could get a lot of use out of this set.
Then I started reading the posts about this set on SCS. . .how the fisherman didn't have a face and that he looked creepy. And there were a lot of ladies who thought this way! I decided I still loved the set and got it anyways! I used it for my father-in-law's birthday which is today and I really like how it turned out. I knew I wanted to watercolor it so I used some of my watercolor paper that I got from Stampin' Up. I actually drew onto the paper with my Stampin' Up markers, then used the Aqua Pen to draw some of the color out. It worked beautifully! I will definitely try this again! And I will also be using my On The Fly set again too. I still like him. . .with or without a face!

Christmas card

Hey there. Sorry I've been gone for a while. . .so many things to do around here!

I thought I'd post one of the cards we'll be making for my Christmas card get-together in November. I just love this card and I hope that the ladies will too! If you're coming. . .here's your sneak peak!

The stamp is from the Sidekick Sayings hostess set. Stamped it with Black StazOn and colored it in with my Stampin' Up markers. This is stamped on the Shimmery paper. . .just for a little shine. I had some wide White Organdy ribbon left from last year's catalog and tied that around the card. The top flap has about an inch cut off the side so you see the Wintergreen designer paper behind it.

Hope you like it!

Women's retreat cards. . .take 2

I finally had a chance to take a picture of the cards the ladies are making on the women's retreat and post them. I am not able to go, but I hope the ladies have fun making them!

First up, is the one I posted before with the ribbon added. I just love the Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon! It's so soft! Definitely need to collect the other colors! Again, I just used the Pick a Petal set, stamped it with Black StazOn and then used my Bashful Blue marker to add the color. The center is stamped with Barely Banana.

The next card can be a generic blank card inside, but I stamped a verse from God's Blessings on the inside. I used Garden Whimsy and randomly stamped the butterfly and on the front. I used some of my retired Cranberry Crisp ribbon on the side. I also took one butterfly, stamped it again and cut it out and attached it with a mini glue dot in the middle so it would be more 3-D.

This last card is a thank you card. I love how this one turned out! I used the hedgehog from Fun and Fast Notes and stamped him in Brown StazOn. Then I used Creamy Caramel and colored him in. I used the dotted argyle for my background on the Creamy Caramel cardstock. I also used some of the 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and a Prima flower that matched perfectly. I just love this card and I hope the ladies do too!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the love ladies!

I had to post again and say thank you for all of the sweet comments! I must say I'm guilty sometimes too of reading other blogs and not leaving comments. . .now that I know how it feels. . .I'm leaving more! I appreciate you all coming and visiting! You've all made my morning!
I'll be posting more later! Thanks!

Is anybody reading??

I hope so. Haven't seen any comments lately so didn't know if there was even anyone reading this blog.
Thought I'd show you two name frames I made as gifts. I've made larger sized ones and sold them to people at school and church. I've got a new family one that I've made with Stampin' Up's All In The Family set. I love how it turned out! I'll show that sometime. For now, here are the two frames I've made.

Workshop cards

I thought I'd post the cards we made in a workshop this past weekend. The ladies seemed to like the cards. They were a bit involved though.
This first one I CASED from lizzier from SCS. Loved how she did the crayon resist on the card so that's what we did but I changed the colors. We used Barely Banana, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi.

This next one was CASED from fsabad also at SCS. I loved the layout of her card. . .I just changed the colors.
And the last card was all my creation! The ladies got very glittery with this one! It was fun to see them all so sparkly!
I hope they all had a good time! Now. . .I need to cut out everything for my World Cardmaking Event this coming Saturday! Time to get busy!

Some thank you's

I needed to make some thank you cards to give as a gift to a friend so I worked on those today. They are all very simple, but I like how each one turned out. I will make up some more I think to make for the craft show to sell. I hope you like them.

Thought I'd share something today that I made for a craft show I was in last year. Found the frame at Wal-Mart and had been wanting to try this. I love how it turned out! Unfortunately, I didn't sell too many, but lots of them were given as gifts! :)
What do you think of it?

Women's Retreat

I was asked to come up with cards for our church's women's retreat and this is one of the cards the ladies will be making.

I ordered some of the Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon from Stampin' Up to add to it. I can't wait to see this ribbon in person! I haven't tried the taffeta yet, but I've heard it's beautiful. Once I take pictures of the other cards, I'll put those up too.
My card idea was inspired from a card posted on SCS. I can't find the exact card now, but I'll post when I do. It was beautiful and just so simple, yet elegant!

China secret pal

We are adopting a little girl from China and I belong to an online group of other adoptive moms from China as well. We have a secret China pal in which there is a specific theme each month and we buy gifts for our pal each month. This is the card I made for my pal this month.

The theme this month was China culture. . .so I bought her two Chinese dresses for her little girl and an Origami kit. Sure hope she doesn't somehow stumble across my blog on the web! :)

Autism support

I have two dear friends who have a child with autism and when Gina K came up with the Love You to Pieces stamp set, I knew I would have to get it to show my friends some love. The puzzle piece is used as the symbol for autism. It's been out for a while now, but I just got the set within the last month. I forgot to take pictures of the first set of cards I made with the set, but I did take pictures this time. I hope you like them.

The cards are textured DCWV cards that I got at Michael's with a coupon one day. Then I picked out my colors of cards, found some ribbon in my stash that I thought matched it and stamped away.

On the Hope We Connect Soon card, I inked up my puzzle piece stamp, then took my flower stamp from Background Basics and inked it with chocolate chip and stamped onto the rubber of the puzzle piece. It therefore transferred the flowers onto the puzzle piece, then I stamped it onto the paper. Kind of a reverse kissing technique. I love how it turned out! I know that the friend that is receiving these will love them too!

Two challenges in one

I thought I'd combine two challenges from SCS today into one card.
I highly recommend trying out the Techniques Challenges on SCS. You will learn so much by trying new things! This weeks challenge was a Surprise! card. Here's the tutorial: Surprise!
As long as you read through the directions slowly, you'll be able to make a card like this one!

I used Groovy Guava and Always Artichoke, which are also this weeks Color Challenge. I have the Groovy Guava Designer Paper and used that for the front of my card. I used the hostess set, In The Spotlight as my focal image. I used my Coluzzle to cut out my stamped image and again for my mat around it. Love my Coluzzle!!! Added an green ice brad to the center and the front was done.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from God's Blessings.
I used a thing (have no clue what it's called) from my Hodgepodge Hardware kit at the top to attach my ribbon to and my card was finished. Try your hand at making one of these. They are fun!!

True friend

Splitcoaststampers always has different challenges going on and I always say I want to participate in them but never have. After seeing last week's color challenge it was time for me to jump in! I love these three colors together! Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate and Old Olive. I also love this new True Friend stamp set. It's from the Holiday Collection mini catalog. I also used the Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon and some brads from my HodgePodge Hardware kit. I used the my stamp pad and swiped it along the edge of the cardstock to give it a little extra color. . .not sure if you can really tell I did that or not. The center of the flower is one of the new Ice brads in green.
I hope you like it.

Well, I liked the sketch so much that I made another card using it! Here is a link to the sketch again. . .Beate's sketch. A very special friend of mine will be receiving this card very soon! We've been friends since gradeschool and have been staying in touch since then!
Again, I used the Aqua Painter to color this flower in. . .I just love the watercolor look it gives it! This is another image from the Doodle This set. The groovy guava paper is some of the new Designer Series paper that came out in the new Collection.
I hope I've inspired you to try out this sketch!

My first bit of inspiration for you. I made this card based on a sketch by Beate.
Every weekend she posts sketches for us to make a card based on. I always say I'm going to join in on the challenges and this is my first one! Take a look at her sketch and try making a card based on it! See what you can come up with!
I used the Doodle This stamp set and then used my Aqua Painter to color in the image. I love using the Aqua Painter. . .it takes a little practice, but once you try it, I know you'll be hooked!
Isn't the Double Stitched Ribbon just beautiful too?
I hope you liked my first card! I hope to share much more with you!

I've joined the blogging world!

Here it is! My first post as a stamping blogger. I hope to share information with my customers here to help them grow as stampers! I hope I can figure this all out!
